Philippi, WV is a vibrant town nestled between hills and with the Tygart River running through. Philippi cemented its place in history by becoming the location of the first land battle of the Civil War. Today we remember that battle during the annual Blue and Gray. Our downtown is a historic district with many buildings dating back to the 1800’s. Come see them, and swing by the museum to visit out mummies! Go for a hike up No Business Hill or kayak down the river and under the Covered Bridge. Feeling hungry? Stop by a local restaurant for anything from a sweet treat to a full meal.
